A silent disco is an experience where an unlimited amount of headphones are connected to one transmitter, allowing each participant to listen to the same music at the same time.

Using silent disco technology helps us overcome 3 main hurdles for making effective music engagement experiences.

Problem:

Dementia rapidly reduces the attention span of a person, making it difficult for them to focus and engage with music

Solution:

Using technology to fill this gap, a silent disco can bring engaging musical experiences into any space, at any time, by anyone.

MDP

A silent disco is an experience where an unlimited amount of headphones are connected to one transmitter, allowing each participant to listen to the same music at the same time.

Why is this technology the perfect medium for music?

  1. Attention: The rapidly reducing attention span associated with dementia makes it harder to focus on the music. The headphones allows a participant to direct all of their available attention towards the music.

  2. Auditory Needs: Each headphone has its own adjustable volume.

  3. Community: There is a need for group-based community activities in care communities and for families in order to create shared moments of joy and connection. The group aspect of Silent Discos provides that platform.
